Peyronie’s Disease and Depression | How To Treat Peyronie's Disease Efficiently | Mansmatters
Peyronie's disease can cause stress, anxiety, and depression in men. Some studies show over half of the men diagnosed with Peyronie's will suffer from depression. If not diagnosed early, the disease can cause problems with erections and lead to less satisfying sexual relations.
Some men suffer depression because of a severe medical condition and others because of a life-changing experience. To many men, the development of pain and the shock of increased curvature in their penis is extremely distressing. This compounded with symptoms of erectile dysfunction and the struggle to have satisfactory sexual intercourse, leads to diminished confidence leading to depression. In one study 48% of men with Peyronie’s disease were diagnosed with depression, with 21% being at the severe end of the spectrum.
